Welcome to Brakel Construction's website.  Tony Brakel and Brakel Construction have been building homes in Northern Michigan and the Traverse City area for over 30 years.  Tony's reputation for attention to detail and his understanding of his clients needs have made him one of the leading builders in Northern Michigan.  Not only does Tony specialize in building waterfront homes but he builds them to the "Green" standards of the Home Builders Association.  The TC area has seen a lot of contractors come and go but only a handful have endured because of their experience and reputation.  Brakel Construction is a part of that unique building fraternity in Traverse area.

Building Green

Tony has been building "green" a long time before building green has become the new trend in home building.  What does "building green" mean?  In a nutshell, it means that you build a home that is earth or environment friendly and you use items that conserve energy or resources.  The Home Builders Association offers a volunteer "Green Build" program that promotes and educates builders on how to "build green". 

Tony and Brakel Construction have long been advocates of building this way.  Tony believes in using environmentally safe products that conserve energy and improve the quality of life in your home.    Brakel Construction also believes in trying to preserve the environment by recycling most of the materials used on the job site and by doing this we aren't filling the landfills with unnecessary garbage.

The three main goals of building green are:

• Provide greater energy efficiency

• Provide healthier indoor and outdoor air quality

• Promote resource efficiency
